Club career

RC Lens

Shortly after his birth in Colombes , the Bellegarde family moved with their three sons to the Bellegarde Paris suburb of Villetaneuse , where Jean-Ricner started playing football for the local amateur club Villetaneuse CS in 2009 . He then joined the RC Lens youth department via Le Mans FC in 2013 . For the 2016/17 season he was promoted to the first team of the second division . He made his professional debut on July 29, 2016 (1st matchday of the season) in the 0-0 draw against Chamois Niort . At the beginning of the season, Bellegarde received a lot of playing time from head coach Alain Casanova , but was ousted from the team in November. It was only in February 2017 that he played his ninth and last league game of this season. The promotion to Ligue 1 was just missed by one point.

In the following season 2017/18 he finally made it into the starting line-up, now under the new trainer Éric Sikora . On September 18 (8th matchday) he scored his first goal in professional football in a 2-0 home win against US Quevilly . During this season he was used in 25 league games in which he scored this goal. He scored his first goal of the season as a substitute on the first match day of the next 2018/19 season , in a 2-0 away win against US Orléans . During this season he lost his status as a regular player and was only used in ten of his 21 league games from the start. On the last day of the season, in a 5-2 home win against US Orléans, he scored twice for the first time for Sang et Or and ended them with four goals. The RC Lens qualified with the 5th place in the table for the play-offs, in which they failed in two finals at the first division FCO Dijon . Bellegarde scored once in four games and prepared two goals. In the following season 2019/20 he played 24 league games in which he was able to prepare a goal.

Racing Strasbourg

After three years in the men's team of the RC Lens, Bellegarde moved to the first division team Racing Strasbourg at the beginning of July 2019 for a transfer fee of two million euros . With the Alsatians he signed a four-year contract. He made his debut on July 25 in a 3-1 home win against Maccabi Haifa in the second qualifying round of the 2019/20 UEFA Europa League . In the league he quickly established himself as a regular player.

National team
