Stefan Mitrović ( Serbian - Cyrillic Стефан Митровић ; born May 22, 1990 in Belgrade ) is a Serbian football player who is under contract with Racing Strasbourg and plays for the Serbian national team.

Career

society

Mitrović started his career in the youth department of the Belgrade club FK Rad . After several one-year positions in Slovakia , the Czech Republic , Serbia and Belgium , he moved to Lisbon in the summer of 2013 . After a few appearances for the second team in the Segunda Liga , the 2nd division in Portugal , he was loaned to Real Valladolid in Spain in January 2014 . In the first division in Spain, the Primera División , he played 16 games and received nine yellow cards. Mitrović is moving to SC Freiburg for the 2014/15 season . He made his debut in the Bundesliga on October 5, 2014 (7th matchday) in a 1-1 draw against Werder Bremen , when he came on for Marc-Oliver Kempf in the 46th minute .

For the 2015/2016 season, Mitrović moved to KAA Gent in the Belgian Pro League on loan with an option to purchase for one year . After the 2015/16 games, Gent withdrew the option to buy Mitrović. His contract originally ran until June 30, 2020.

But at the beginning of the 2018/19 season Mitrović moved to France to Racing Strasbourg in Ligue 1 . Here he immediately won the league cup in the final against EA Guingamp (4: 1 nE) and qualified for the Europa League .

National team

He made his international debut for Serbia on June 1, 2013, in a 1-1 draw against Panama .

On October 14, 2014, Mitrović took a drone with the flag of Greater Albania hovering over the field in the European Championship qualifier against Albania and wanted to carry it off the field. He was then attacked by Albanian players. Eventually, angry Serbian fans stormed the pitch, forcing the players to flee to the dressing room. The game was canceled and scored 3-0 for Albania.
