Jenny Jones (born July 3, 1980 in Bristol , England ) is a British snowboarder .

Career

Jones drove her first FIS World Cup race in December 2001 in Whistler , which she finished on the halfpipe in 31st place. She has been taking part in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour competitions since 2003 . They brought in January 2003 at the Honda Session in Vail in Slopestyle their first victory. In the 2005/06 season she took second place in slopestyle at the Roxy Chicken Jam in St. Moritz and at the Candy Jam in Åre . She finished the season in second place in the World Snowboard Tour overall ranking. The following season she won the Slopestyle at the Chevrolet Grand Prix at Mount Bachelor and came third at the Roxy Chicken Jam in Kaprun and at the Burton US Open at Stratton Mountain Resort .

At the beginning of the 2007-08 season, Jones won slopestyle at the Burton New Zealand Open at Snow Park . In the further course of the season she reached second place at the Australian Open in Perisher Blue and at the Burton European Open in Laax . At the end of the season she won the X-Trail Nippon Open in Bandai and took third place at the Burton US Open at Stratton Mountain Resort . She finished the season in seventh place in the overall tour standings. In the 2008-09 season she came second in slopestyle at the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge , the Burton US Open at Stratton Mountain Resort and the Roxy Chicken Jam USA in Mammoth . In January 2009 she won the gold medal in Slopestyle at the Winter X Games 2009 in Aspen . The following season she finished second in the Winter Dew Tour Slopestyle Ranking. At the Winter X Games 2010 and the Winter X Games Europe 2010 in Tignes , she won gold in slopestyle. In March 2010 she came third at the Roxy Chicken Jam USA in Mammoth . At the Winter X Games 2011 she won the silver medal in slopestyle. In February 2011, she took third place in slopestyle at The Oakley Arctic Challenge in Oslo . At the Snowboard World Championships 2013 in Stoneham she came in sixth place. At the beginning of the 2013/14 season, she reached second place in slopestyle at the FIS World Cup race in Cardrona . At her first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , she won the bronze medal in slopestyle.
