Jens Krause (music producer)

Jens Krause (* 1959 in Hanover ) is a German music producer .

Life

After training as a retail salesman in a record store, Krause started working as a sound engineer in 1984 . In 1987 he founded the Peppermint Park Studio in Hanover with Wolfgang Sick . Mousse T later also worked in the studio . The bands produced by Krause include: a. Fury in the Slaughterhouse , Cultured Pearls , Big Light , Terry Hoax , Jan Josef Liefers and Die Prinzen .

From 2003 to 2011 Krause ran his own recording studio "Capitano" in Hemmingen , south of Hanover, where he a. a. die Wohnraumhelden , Aeroclub , Syd Berliner and Juliano Rossi produced.

In 2005 the studio moved to Thailand for a few weeks to realize a benefit project. Together with Kai Wingenfelder , singer of the band Fury in the Slaughterhouse , Krause produced a record called Home , on which several artists such as B. Astrid North , Maya Saban , Stephan Eggert ( Selig ) and Henning Rümenapp ( Guano Apes ) recorded songs together with Thai children.

Between 2001 and 2005 Krause composed eight short works for a large symphony orchestra. The NDR Pops Orchestra recorded these 8 symphoniettas in September 2006; They premiered in November 2006 in a benefit gala organized by Krause for the benefit of Doctors Without Borders . Mousse T. , Jane Comerford , Jan Losef Liefers , Susanne Wolff , Heinz Rudolf Kunze and other artists supported Krause at this gala by reading from novels and autobiographies.

Krause has been musical director of the crossover project Home / Bremer Philharmoniker since 2007 . Two concert galas were held in autumn 2008 for the benefit project of the former Beluga School for Life .

Since 2008 Krause has been working as a lecturer for music production , arrangement and compositions at the Lower Saxony State Music Academy .

From 2011 to 2016 the Capitano studio was located in Dudensen , a district of Neustadt am Rübenberge . There produced u. a. Astrid North, Enemy Jack, Quarterly Project, Denmantau, Hold, and Jeremy Bro.

Krause has lived and worked in the Capitano studio in Barjols in Provence, France, since 2018 .
