Jens Westerbeck

Jens Westerbeck (born July 2, 1977 in Bünde ) is a German writer , television writer and gag writer.

Life

Westerbeck attended grammar school on the market in Bünde, dropped out before graduating from high school and trained as an industrial clerk in 1999. Since then he has been working independently (including until 2009 as a yacht broker). He is married, has a son and now lives in Berlin.

In 2010 he published his autobiographical debut novel Boatpeople (first edition by tivi Verlag), in which he satirized his old life as a yacht broker. After appearing on a talk show with Markus Lanz , Heyne Verlag acquired the paperback rights to the work and published it in its Heyne Hardcore division in 2012 . At the same time, the audio book version was published by Sony Music , recorded by Benjamin Völz . In 2013 Westerbeck wrote the dialogue book Let me through, my husband is a doctor, together with the Berlin cabaret artist Gabi Decker for Orell Füssli Verlag . in which the two authors ironically reflect on the role of women in professional life. In 2014 Heyne published another non-fiction book with the title Mr. Westerbeck and his documents about his time as an entrepreneur. Oliver Kalkofe (Randomhouse Audio) set the audio book to music. In 2015 Westerbeck found his way back to the novel and published the media satire Aftershowparty , also with Heyne Verlag.

Westerbeck started his first job as a television writer in 2012 on the redesigned evening before ARD at Gottschalk Live . In the same year he worked for the 6th season of RTLs Supertalent . In 2013 he was involved in the development of 30 Years of RTL and the 1st season Back to School - Gottschalk's big class reunion , also RTL. In 2014 followed an engagement with SAT1 and the 2nd season of Celebrity Big Brother as well as the 2nd season of Back to School . In 2015 he was the author of the TV show Herbstblond , in which Thomas Gottschalk celebrated his 65th birthday on RTL in Berlin's Admiralspalast. (Broadcast live on May 18, 2015) In the same year, he was also involved in the third season of "Celebrity Big Brother" in this role and developed the video blog "ZEITraffer" for the weekly newspaper Die Zeit together with Markus Peichl .

In 2010 Westerbeck began to write comedy contributions for the broadcasting association of Radio NRW , which he spoke in himself and which were published as a series (including a case for Mr. Westerbeck ). From 2011 he wrote for the comedian Atze Schröder and his stage programs Revolution , Pain Free , and Correct Cheating . In 2012 he also took part in Matze Knop's live program Platzhirsche .

For the TV show Do You Understand Fun? In 2019 he acted in one stroke with Thomas Gottschalk as a decoy .
