history

Jerisau was mentioned in 1170/75 as "Gerese". Regarding the manorial rule , the place was divided into three parts. Around 1497, one part each belonged to the parish of Jerisau and the parish of Glauchau, the third part was an official village of the Schönburg rule of Glauchau . Around 1750, the entire village of Amtsdorf was in the Glauchau rulership, the district of Fordglauchau . After an administrative reform was carried out in the area of the Schönburg recession in 1878, Jerisau came to the newly founded Saxon governorate of Glauchau in 1880 .

Jerisau was incorporated into the then independent city of Glauchau on April 1, 1937. As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Jerisau became part of the city of Glauchau in 1952 and became part of the Glauchau district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Glauchau in 1990 and in the Chemnitzer district in 1994 Land and 2008 in the district of Zwickau. Jerisau is now part of the Jerisau / Lipprandis district of the large district town of Glauchau.
