history

Lipprandis was mentioned in 1308 as "Luprandis". The place originally belonged to the Remse Monastery , which was dissolved in 1533 during the Reformation . Regarding the manorial rule , the place was divided into two parts. One part belonged as an official village to the Schönburg recess lordship of Glauchau , Amt Fordglauchau . The other part of Lipprandis belonged as an official village to the Schönburg fiefdom of Remse , which arose after the dissolution of the Remse monastery in 1533 and since 1543 belonged to the Lords of Schönburg under Wettin suzerainty.

As part of the administrative reorganization of the Kingdom of Saxony, the Rems portion of Lipprandis was subordinated to the Zwickau district administration as part of the Schönburg suzerainty in Remse in 1835. The feudal lordship of Remse and its locations has since been administratively administered by the royal Saxon office of Zwickau . From 1856 the Rems share of Lipprandis belonged to the Remse judicial office and from 1875 initially to the Zwickau administration . Once in the field of Rezessherrschaften Schoenburg an administrative reform was carried out in 1878, the whole place Lipprandis came in 1880 to the newly established Saxon Amtshauptmannschaft Glauchau .

As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the municipality of Lipprandis came to the Glauchau district in the Chemnitz district in 1952 (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ). On May 19, 1974, Lipprandis was incorporated into Glauchau. As a district of the city of Glauchau, Lipprandis came to the Saxon district of Glauchau in 1990, which was incorporated in the district of Chemnitzer Land in 1994 and in the district of Zwickau in 2008. Lipprandis is now part of the Jerisau / Lipprandis district of the large district town of Glauchau.
