history

The Waldhufendorf Ebersbach was founded in 1275 in connection with a “Gerhardus de Hebersbach, Gerh. de Ebersbach ”mentioned. Ebersbach came in 1543 as the former property of the Remse Monastery, which was dissolved in the course of the Reformation in 1533, through purchase to the Lords of Schönburg . In 1551 Ebersbach is run as an official village of the Schönburg rule of Remse , which was created after the dissolution of the Remse monastery in 1533 and belonged to the Lords of Schönburg under Wettin suzerainty since 1543 . Due to its historical affiliation, Ebersbach was parish church to Oberwinkel , since 1931 to the Luther church parish of Altstadt Waldenburg .

As part of the administrative reorganization of the Kingdom of Saxony, Ebersbach was subordinated to the Zwickau district administration as part of the Schönburg feudal lordship of Remse in 1835. The feudal lordship of Remse and its locations has since been administratively administered by the royal Saxon office of Zwickau . From 1856 Ebersbach belonged to the Remse court office and from 1875 initially to the Zwickau administration . After an administrative reform was carried out in the area of the Schönburg recession in 1878, Ebersbach and the entire former judicial district of Remse came to the newly founded Saxon governorate of Glauchau in 1880 .

As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the municipality of Ebersbach came to the Glauchau district in the Chemnitz district in 1952 (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ). On September 17, 1961, the neighboring town of Oberwinkel was incorporated into Ebersbach. When the municipality of Ebersbach was incorporated into the municipality of Reinholdshain , on January 1, 1974 the reclassification from Oberwinkel to Waldenburg took place . As a district of the municipality of Reinholdshain, Ebersbach came to the Saxon district of Glauchau in 1990 , which was merged into the district of Chemnitzer Land in 1994 and in 2008 in the district of Zwickau. With the incorporation of Reinholdshain with the district Ebersbach in the city of Glauchau, Ebersbach became a part of the district Reinholdshain on January 1, 1993.
