Joachim S. Hohmann

Joachim Stephan Hohmann (born August 19, 1953 in Hünfeld ; † July 5, 1999 in Wickers ) was a German writer , pedagogue , sociologist , poet and professor at university . He made a name for himself u. a. with scientific publications on the subjects of homosexuality , tsiganology , prejudice research , gerontology , youth research , music sociology and the history of German teaching . He also founded the series “Contributions to the History of German Lessons” and “Studies on Tsiganology and Folklore Studies” at the Peter Lang publishing house .

Life

Hohmann attended high school in his hometown of Hünfeld up to the twelfth grade. There he stood out for his special handling of the language. At the age of 14, he was already publishing reports and articles on current events in the local daily newspaper. He dropped out of high school and switched to the journalism school in Munich . During this time his first volume of poetry, Mein Fisch Vulkan, was published . He then became editor- in- chief of the local newspaper Bayerwald Echo in Furth im Wald. He then switched to Dö-Werbung in Frankfurt / Main, was a freelancer for the Frankfurter Rundschau and an editor for the Saalepost in Bad Neustadt an der Saale .

From autumn 1975 onwards, Hohmann attended the Fulda University of Applied Sciences through his second educational path . a. the focus is on education for the disabled and youth and adult education . After only five semesters, he passed his diploma as a social pedagogue with distinction.

During this time he was the editor-in-chief of the gay newspaper Mann and a freelancer for the magazine HIM . His state recognition as a Dipl. Soc. Ped. He obtained it after a year at the School for Practical Formables in Marburg. At the same time, he enrolled at the Philipps University of Marburg for the subjects of education , political science , German studies , ethnology and sociology . With the exam he passed the 1st state examination for teaching at grammar schools. In a remarkably short time he did his doctorate in Bremen with an educational dissertation for Dr. phil. He passed his 2nd state examination for teaching at grammar schools at the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Schule in Fulda.

Hohmann then enrolled at the University of Giessen in order to obtain the qualification to teach for secondary schools and secondary schools. He also received his doctorate with a social science thesis for Dr. rer. soc.

In the following years he taught at various schools, including a. Elementary school in Hünfeld, Hermann Lietz school in Bieberstein, Georg Büchner grammar school in Bad Vilbel, technical school in Paderborn, comprehensive school in Bad Soden-Salmünster, grammar school in Schlüchtern, grammar school in Bad Hersfeld. At the University of Applied Sciences Fulda, University of Marburg, University of Kassel , University of Heidelberg and University of Dortmund , he held various teaching positions in German Studies, Social Sciences true, Social and Cultural Research. In addition, there were temporary research assignments on socio-historical and legal sociological aspects of occupational diseases (1885–1936), on agricultural and racial policy in the Nazi state, on agricultural sociology, on leisure activities, nutrition and hygiene awareness of children and young people.

After further state exams and diploma exams , Hohmann qualified as a professor in sociology in Dortmund. After further teaching assignments and guest lectures, he was appointed professor of sociology at the Weingarten University of Education in 1993 .

He has always been interested in his homeland, the Rhön , and so he founded the local publisher "Rhön Verlag", which dealt exclusively with literature from the entire Rhön (Hesse, Bavaria, Thuringia). Around a hundred books as well as the Rhön game and the Rhön puzzles were published there. The publishing house was managed by his wife Ingrid Hohmann.

Throughout his career, Hohmann was always interested in poetry . Between 1975 and his death in 1999, around 15 volumes of poetry and an LP were published , which he discussed with his own poems.

He also published texts, books and compilations with guest contributions under real names and various pseudonyms such as Angelo Leopardi , such as books on the topics of pedophilia and S / M :

Joachim S. Hohmann died on July 5, 1999 after a long illness of cancer, leaving behind a wife and four children.
