Joana (singer)
Joana (born October 11, 1944 in Neustadt in the Black Forest, today Titisee-Neustadt ; real name: Johanna Emetz , called "Hansi Emetz") is a German singer , songwriter and presenter.
Life
Joana was already active as a singer and guitarist during her school days (including at the Bach Gymnasium in Mannheim ). After school she studied Romance languages , German and pedagogy and began classical singing training in Mannheim and speaking and acting classes in Heidelberg . From 1965 she appeared regularly and gave concerts, first with folklore, then with French chansons, but also Bertolt Brecht , Kurt Tucholsky and Erich Kästner , and was a member of the Heidelberg student theater ensemble. In 1966 she recorded her first record From Foreign Countries , a maxi single . The first television appearance followed in 1967, the first LP Folklore International in 1968.
In 1970 she won a talent competition and then got a record deal . She devoted herself to chanson and wrote her own songs, took part in the 1971 Song Festival in Hvar / Yugoslavia and in 1972 at the Song Festival in Sopot / Poland . In 1972 she made her first major tour of Germany. She was also a guest on various television music programs. In the meantime she had passed her second state examination, but only worked for one year in the school service. In addition to high German songs, she sang and wrote songs in her Palatinate dialect, moderated her own television programs, took part in radio plays and wrote the book With unbroken wings in 1982 . She has published several albums to this day and in 2004 and 2005 presented the television program Songs on a summer evening on Bayerischer Rundfunk , as well as the WDR program Chansons- und Lieder-liches . In the meantime (2014) she has released 27 CD / LP productions; their songs are included in many school and music books. Joana lives in Bad Schönborn .
