Career
NFL
Minnesota Vikings
Webb was signed in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings . He was initially considered a player who could also be used as a wide receiver, but the then head coach Brad Childress later decided to only let him play as a quarterback.
He played his first game in the NFL on December 5, 2010 against the Buffalo Bills . In this game, however, he only played the kickoff and one move as a wide receiver. A week later he played against the New York Giants for the first time as a quarterback. Two of his five passports arrived.
After the injury of Brett Favre in the penultimate game week against the Chicago Bears , he was set as starting quarterback for this and the last game against the Philadelphia Eagles . Especially against the Eagles, he made a good figure for long stretches, ran a touchdown and threw 26 passes for a gain of 129 yards . The Vikings surprisingly won 24:14.
For the 2011 season , Webb was only intended as the third quarterback behind Donovan McNabb and Christian Ponder . After the former was dismissed in early December and Ponder barely showed consistent performance, Webb occasionally came to play time. In the game against the Detroit Lions , he came in the third quarter and managed with a thrown and a run touchdown almost to convert a 17-point deficit into a win. Overall, he ran for 109 yards of space in this game, a team record. Two weeks later he achieved a perfect quarterback rating and a 33:26 win in the last game of the season against the Washington Redskins , the first for the Vikings in two months. In preparation for the 2013 season, Webb was only used in this position after he had previously been used as a wide receiver.
Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers signed Webb in March 2014, originally as a quarterback. However, it is mostly used as a kick- return. He was released on September 2, 2017.
