Joel Murray
Joel Murray (born April 17, 1963 in Wilmette , Illinois ) is an American actor and director .
Life
Acting career
He got his first major role in the sitcom Grand , where he played Norris Weldon on the side of Bonnie Hunt and Sara Rue . In Germany he was first seen in the hit sitcom Dharma and Greg, where he played fellow lawyer and best friend of Greg Montgomery Pete Cavanaugh. After the end of Dharma and Greg, appearances on various series and a recurring role as Danny "Fitz" Fitzsimmons in the sitcom Still Standing followed . From 2007 to 2012 he played the role of Frederick C. Rumsen in 13 episodes in the multi-award-winning series Mad Men .
In 2011 he was seen in the cinema for the first time in a leading role: alongside Tara Lynne Barr in Bobcat Goldthwait's comedy thriller God Bless America . In it he plays the good-natured Frank, who, after divorce, job loss and diagnosis of a fatal illness, starts a bloody campaign of revenge against reality and casting shows and right-wing America.
family
Joel has been married to Eliza Coyle (she played with Dharma and Greg Greg 's ex-fiancée Barbara) since 1989 . They have 4 children together (Hank, Gus, Louie and Annie).
He runs a restaurant called Caddyshack with his brothers.
Joel Murray is the brother of Bill Murray , John Murray and Brian Doyle-Murray , who are also actors (he has five other siblings, including a sister named Nancy). He is Christina Stauffer's brother-in-law. Murray grew up with his siblings in an Irish Catholic family.
