Johann August Leberecht Brinckmann
Johann August Leberecht Brinckmann (born January 29, 1791 in Jodlauken , † March 4, 1872 in Barby ) was a Prussian major general .
Life
origin
His parents were the general tenant of Jodlauken Ernst Julius Brinckmann and his wife Juliane, née Viebrandt.
Military career
Brinckmann studied 1806/07 first of all the building trades , then entered Prussian service and was hired on October 28, 1808 Bombardier in the East Prussian artillery brigade. There he was promoted to second lieutenant until mid-September 1811 . During the wars of liberation he took part in the crossing at Wartenburg , was wounded in the battle of the Katzbach and was awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class for his behavior near Leipzig . Brinckmann also took part in the battles near Löwenberg, Freyburg and the defense of Vitry. During the campaign of 1815 he was the leader of a column and was promoted to Premier Lieutenant on June 30, 1815 .
On May 23, 1816 Brinckmann came to the Magdeburg Artillery Brigade and rose to captain in April 1817 . From March 16, 1832 to July 28, 1833 he acted as an artillery officer from the square in Cologne and was then transferred to the 7th Artillery Brigade with the promotion to major . This was followed from October 26, 1836 as a department commander of the 5th Artillery Brigade . He was born on March 22, 1843 to lieutenant colonel , and on March 31, 1846 Colonel promoted. Under awarding of the character as a major general Brinckmann got his on May 8, 1847 farewell with board . After his departure, King Friedrich Wilhelm IV awarded him the Order of the Red Eagle III on January 10, 1857 . Class with a bow. He died in Barby on March 4, 1872.
In his assessment from 1846 it said: “Morality and behavior in both official and social relations are very good. Is eager, active, prudent in service, has good military knowledge and notable war experience. He devotes constant attention to the training and internal organization of his department. For several years he has led the mounted artillery during the brigade's target practice with good success and his achievements should be recognized with praise. Suitable for transportation on his tour. "

Brinckmann married Frederike Dorothea Charlotte von Berlepsch (1800-1863) on March 29, 1820 in Minden . The couple had two sons and three daughters.
