Johann Deodatus Friedrich von Bayar (* 1700 in the diocese of Liège ; † November 6, 1776 in Schlawa ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Bayar was a son of the lord of Mégimont in the diocese of Liège and Johanna Franziska von Magis. In 1750 he married Anna Maria Franziska von Carnier (1729–1752).

He began his career in French service with the Regiment Gens d'Armes. 1721 he joined as a cadet at Leibregiment in Bonn in Electorate of Cologne services promoted in 1722 to Ensign , 1725 to lieutenant , 1730 to captain and took in 1737 on the Turkish War before Semlin part. 1742 dimittierte he made Electoral Cologne services and entered in the rank of captain in the imperial an infantry regiment Geldy.

He took part in the War of the Austrian Succession on the Austrian side until 1743 and joined the Prussian army on September 28th as a staff assistant in the cuirassier regiment Graf Geßler (No. 4) . In 1758 he became a lieutenant colonel in the cuirassier regiment of Dalwig (No. 12) and was diminished in 1760. In 1761 he returned to the regiment as a colonel , became its commander in 1763 , but resigned as major general in 1766.
