Johann Franz von Schaffgotsch
Count Johann Franz de Paula von Schaffgotsch, Baron von und zu Kynast und Greiffenstein (born June 30, 1792 in Brno ; † November 3, 1866 ibid), Imperial Austrian General of the Cavalry .
Life
Johann Franz von Schaffgotsch came from the noble family Schaffgotsch . He was the son of Count Johann Ernst Maximilian von Schaffgotsch (* August 19, 1742, † May 27, 1825) from his second marriage to Johanna Nepomucena Candida von Blümegen (* October 3, 1765, † February 7, 1811). His brother Anton Ernst was Bishop of Brno .
Johann Franz came in 1808 when Chevaulegers -Regiments Vincent one into the imperial army. In 1809 he took part in the battle of Aspern as a first lieutenant . In 1813 he fought as Rittmeister in the Cuirassier Regiment No. 6 in the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig and in 1814 in northern France. In the campaign of 1815 he returned to the Chevaulegers Regiment Vincent in Italy, where he took part in the train to Naples . On November 16, 1856 he was promoted to general of the cavalry and in 1858 appointed to command general in Moravia and Silesia. In June 1859 he led the IX. From his marriage to Ernestine von Lamberg (* May 8, 1791, † April 29, 1858) on January 30, 1817, there were several children:
