Johann Wilhelm Marckart

Johann Wilhelm Marckart (also Markert ; * 1699 in Rüdenhausen , † September 19, 1757 in Harderwijk ) was a German law scholar and university professor .

Life

Marckart first attended high school in Schleusingen , then went to Leipzig University in 1715 . He left this university to move to the neighboring city of Halle , where he mainly studied with Justus Henning Böhmer , Nicolaus Hieronymus Gundling , Johann Peter von Ludewig and Christian Thomasius .

After studying in Halle, he went to the Hohenlohe-Weikersheim estate as a lawyer . In order to advance his career, he was placed at the University of Gießen , where he found accommodation with the then Chancellor . In 1727 Marckart went as governor to the Counts of Rechteren at Almelo , with whom he was henceforth in favor. They left him in 1732 at the University of Utrecht go where it 1734 to Dr. jur. received his doctorate .

On August 29, 1747, Marckart was selected as a full professor of law at the University of Harderwijk . He accepted the offer and after his inaugural address in 1748 was appointed professor, in particular of public law . He died in office of painful emaciation .
