Johann Wrobel

Johann Wrobel (born October 23, 1831 in Opole ; † June 19, 1909 in Czernowitz ) was an Austrian classical philologist .

Life

Johann Wrobel taught at the University of Lemberg . When she was Polonized , he was the first Graecist at the Franz Joseph University in Chernivtsi. In 1884/85 he was its rector . Over the years he was also the chairman of the examination committee for teaching at secondary schools (= Austrian grammar schools) in Bucovina . After his retirement in 1899, he still held lectures as an honorary professor . His successor on the chair was Ernst Kalinka .

Wrobel worked on Middle Latin literature and worked on the Corpus scriptorum ecclesiasticorum latinorum .
