Richard Pribram
Richard Pribram (also Přibram ; born April 21, 1847 in Prague , † January 7, 1928 in Berlin ) was an Austrian chemist . He is a member of the Jewish medical family Pribram .
Life
Pribram studied at the Charles University and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich , where he in 1869 to Dr. phil. PhD . After a short stay in Leipzig , he became an assistant at the zoological institute of the University of Prague in 1869 and assistant at the chair for organic chemistry at the physiological institute of the University of Leipzig in 1870. In 1872 he completed his habilitation in chemistry in Prague and worked there as a private lecturer until 1874 . In 1874 he went to the then newly founded trade school in Czernowitz as a professor of chemistry, and in 1875 he moved to the university as a private lecturer. In 1876 he got a position as associate professor and then finally in 1879 a chair as professor for general and analytical chemistry in Czernowitz. In 1883/84 he was dean of his faculty , in 1891/92 he was rector of the university. 1905 appointment to the court councilor . After retiring in 1906, he went to Vienna as a private lecturer. His son was the surgeon Bruno Oskar Pribram .
Richard Pribram died on January 7, 1928 at the age of 80 in Berlin. He was buried on January 11, 1928 in the Heerstraße cemetery in today's Berlin-Westend district . The tomb has since been closed.
