Constantin Popovici (theologian)

Constantin Popovici (born September 22, 1846 , † September 2, 1938 ) was a Greek Orthodox theologian and university professor in Chernivtsi .

Life

Popowicz attended the theological college in Chernivtsi, which sent him to Vienna in 1870 for higher education . In 1873/74 he was a substitute religion teacher at the school . The new Franz Joseph University in Chernivtsi appointed him on September 4, 1875 as associate professor for canon law. In 1880 she appointed him full professor .

In 1888/89 he was rector of the university. In his rector's speech on October 4, 1888, he dealt with the position of canon law in theology and jurisprudence. Prepared in Vienna, he also represented the chair for practical theology in his rectorate year and in 1890/91 . He devoted himself to the study of sources and the Greek Orthodox particular canon law of Bukovina .
