John Sanchez (2010)

John A. Sanchez (* 1963 in Albuquerque , New Mexico ) is an American politician . From 2011 to 2019 he was lieutenant governor of the state of New Mexico.

Career

John Sanchez graduated from high school. He later started the Albuquerque-based small business Right Way Roofing . Politically, he joined the Republican Party . Between 2001 and 2003 he was a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives , on which he served on seven committees. He campaigned for a reform of the education system in his state. In 2002 he ran unsuccessfully for governor of New Mexico.

In 2010, Sanchez was elected Lieutenant Governor of New Mexico alongside Susana Martinez . He has held this office since January 1, 2011. He is Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . In 2011, he initially ran in the US Senate primaries , but withdrew his application on February 9, 2012. In 2014, both the governor and her deputy were confirmed in office.
