Casey Luna

Casey E. Luna (born May 26, 1931 ) is an American politician . Between 1991 and 1995 he was lieutenant governor of the state of New Mexico .

Career

Nothing is known about Casey Luna's youth and schooling. Professionally, he was the owner of a car dealership for over 50 years until July 2000. Politically, he became a member of the Democratic Party . Over time, he held local political offices in various New Mexico states. He was a member of the New Mexico State Fire Fighters Association and the Better Business Bureau of New Mexico . He was also a member of several school boards and chambers of commerce. He also sat on the Torrance County County Council and was later a member of the Spaceport Commission and the Spaceport Authority . In 1986 he ran unsuccessfully for the office of lieutenant governor of New Mexico.

In 1990 Luna was elected lieutenant governor of his state alongside Bruce King . He held this office between January 1, 1991 and January 1, 1995. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . In 1994 he withdrew his candidacy in the gubernatorial primary election when a defeat became apparent. In 2000 he sold his dealership. Today he lives in Belen .
