James Brooks Jones

James Brooks Jones (born September 24, 1886 in South Carolina , † August 9, 1947 ) was an American politician . Between 1943 and 1946 he served as lieutenant governor in the state of New Mexico .

Career

James Brooks Jones served during the First World War in the US Army . He was nicknamed Jawbone . Politically, he belonged to the Democratic Party . Between 1943 and 1946 he held the post of Lieutenant Governor of New Mexico. He died about two years after the end of World War II and was then buried in Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe.
