James M. Murray

James Marshall Murray Sr. (born April 9, 1889 in St. Marys , Auglaize County , Ohio , United States , † January 16, 1946 in Tucson , Pima County , Arizona , United States) was an American businessman and politician . In 1939 and 1940 he was lieutenant governor of the state of New Mexico .

Career

James Murray lived in Hobbs , Lea County . With his wife Edna he had at least five children together: Jane Elizabeth, James (1912-1991), Martha, Tom and Richard. In 1933 he founded the Me-Tex Supply Company with his son James .

He belonged to the Democratic Party . In 1939 and 1940, under Governor John E. Miles, he was Vice-Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . He attended the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in July 1940 . After that his track is lost.
