Jonas Stark (born April 27, 1972 in Gävle ) is a former Swedish football player . The defender , who helped Hammarby IF win the Swedish championship in 2001 , made his career in Sweden and Denmark.

Career

Stark played at IK Sätra in his youth before joining Gefle IF . With the club he was relegated from the second division in the spring series in 1991, but managed to get promoted again with the team in the fall. In the following years he established himself with the club from Gästrikland in the front midfield of the northern season of the second-highest division. In the 1995 season he finished second with the team behind Umeå FC , but in the subsequent relegation games against Östers IF , the club missed promotion to the Allsvenskan after two defeats . However, this remained a one-time success, in the following seasons the team slipped in the league and ended the season on a relegation place. However , the club prevailed against Väsby IK and Östersunds FK .

In the meantime, Stark had made a name for himself in a higher class and moved to the Stockholm club Hammarby IF in the Allsvenskan before the start of the first division season in 1999 . Under coach Sören Cratz , he avoided relegation to the second division with the team - he had 16 games to book. After he had established himself as a regular in central defense in the following season , he played 25 season games in the 2001 season and was decisive for winning the Lennart Johansson Cup alongside Christer Fursth , Kennedy Bakırcıoğlu , Suleyman Sleyman and Trym Bergman involved for the Swedish champions. In the following season, which the club finished ninth in the table, he was finally on the field in all 26 games and was also a regular at the beginning of the 2003 season. In the course of the season, however , coach Anders Linderoth increasingly relied on Max von Schlebrügge and Patrik Gerrbrand as the center-back duo.

After his contract expired in late 2003, Stark left his home country and joined BK Frem København in the Danish Superliga . By the end of the 2003/04 season he ran in nine games for the team, but could not prevent the club's relegation to the second division. He then returned to Sweden and joined Västerås SK in the Superettan . Right away, he missed regular players with the club in the 2005 season here, too, but remained loyal to the club in the third division Division 1 . After a third place in the league's northern season at the end of the 2008 season, he ended his active career to pursue a career as a teacher.
