Jonathan Ligali (born May 28, 1991 in Montpellier ) is a French football goalkeeper .
Career
Ligali first played football in Jacou before moving to HSC Montpellier . There he was used in the second team from 2008. A year later he made his debut first in the French U-18 and a little later in the U-19 selection. He later also played for the U-20s and took part in the U-20 World Cup in 2011 and made it to the semifinals. In the same year he signed his first professional contract with Montpellier. Nevertheless, he was still used in the second team, with which he rose from the fourth to the fifth division. In 2012, he was able to celebrate his first title with the French championship without having been involved. On December 1, 2012 Ligali came in the 0-1 against Olympique Lyon to his first game for the first team and thus his first division debut . He replaced the injured goalkeepers Geoffrey Jourdren and Laurent Pionnier . Subsequently, no further considerations were made in the first team. Three days later he made his UEFA Champions League debut in a 1-1 draw against FC Schalke 04 .
Immediately after the terrorist attack on Charlie Hebdo , the Ligue 1 encounter between Montpellier and Olympique Marseille took place on January 9, 2015 . As a sign of respect, the teams wore black and white jerseys with the words “Je suis Charlie” on them when they warmed up. Only Jonathan Ligali and Abdelhamid El Kaoutari did not join the declaration of sympathy.
