Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo (born June 22, 1991 in Ndikiniméki ) is a Cameroonian football player who is mainly used as a defender . He is currently under contract with HSC Montpellier . With the Cameroonian national team he won the Africa Cup in 2017 .
Career
Club career
In his youth, Oyongo played for the Cameroonian club Moussango FC between 2008 and 2010 , where he was trained. From there he made the jump to the Cameroonian Première Division when he signed a professional contract with Cotonsport Garoua in 2010 . He was able to win the Cameroonian championship three times there: 2010, 2011 and 2013.
On March 6, 2014, he was loaned to the US franchise New York Red Bulls for Major League Soccer . During the regular season Oyongo was used 13 times for the New Yorkers, while he was able to prepare three goals. For this he was named Newcomer of the Year . During the play-offs he was used five more times, including the preparation of the winning goal by Bradley Wright-Phillips against Sporting Kansas City in the 90th minute of the game. Oyongo also played in three CONCACAF Champions League games and played a friendly against England's Arsenal FC .
On January 9, 2015, New York withdrew the option to purchase and committed Oyongo permanently, but at the end of January it was sold to Montreal Impact . He moved with Eric Alexander , in return Felipe came from Montreal to New York. Oyongo made his first game for Impact on May 24, 2015 against FC Dallas (final score: 2: 1), and he scored his first goal in the derby against Toronto FC on June 25 of the same year (final score: 1: 3). On September 16, 2015, he saw the red card against the San José Earthquakes after a rough game against Matías Pérez García .
National team
Oyongo played in Cameroon's U-20 team and took part in the U-20 World Cup with her.
He made his debut for the national team of Cameroon on September 6, 2014 in the game against the national team of the Republic of the Congo . Oyongo scored his first and so far only goal for the Cameroon national team on January 20, 2015 against the team of Mali . In the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations he came in all parts used. He was able to win the title with the team.
