Joseph "Jos" De Bakker (born May 27, 1934 in Antwerp-Borgerhout ) is a former Belgian track cyclist .

From the 1950s to the 1960s, Jos De Bakker was the dominant Belgian racing driver in the short-term disciplines on the track. Between 1952 and 1966 he was Belgian sprint champion 13 times , five times as an amateur and from 1957 eight times as a professional . Four times - in 1960 , 1961 , 1963 and 1964 - he was third in the professional sprint world championships. In 1957 he also won the renowned sprint classic Grand Prix de Paris . He also competed in 20 six-day races, one of which he won, in 1963 with Rik Van Steenbergen in Madrid . In the 1963/64 season he made an extensive competition trip to Australia. He won 13 sprint tournaments there, including the most important race, the Australian Grand Prix.

In 1968 De Bakker retired as a cyclist, but remained active for many years as a pacemaker in stayer and derny races .
