Julia Dingwort-Nusseck , née Nusseck, (born October 6, 1921 in Altona ) is a German business journalist . From 1976 to 1988 she was the first president of the Landeszentralbank Lower Saxony . In this capacity, she was also the first woman in the executive committee of the Deutsche Bundesbank . She is politically committed to the CDU .

Life

During the Second World War, Julia Nusseck 1940 made the Notabitur at Gymnasium Allee in Hamburg-Altona and studied economics at the Universities of Hamburg and Tübingen and graduated in 1943 as a graduate economist from. After graduating as Dr. rer. pole. In 1944 she became the executive secretary at the Neue Sparcasse von 1864 in Hamburg. In 1946 she became an economic editor at Radio Hamburg in the British occupation zone . She took over the management of the economics department in 1947 when her superiors left after their Nazi past became known.

She became deputy editor-in-chief of television at Westdeutscher Rundfunk in 1969 and editor-in-chief on November 1, 1973. She held this position until September 30, 1976.

The Lower Saxon Finance Minister Walther Leisler Kiep nominated Julia Dingwort-Nusseck in June 1976 with the support of Prime Minister Ernst Albrecht as Lower Saxony's central bank president . The Central Bank Council of the Bundesbank rejected them by ten to six votes. Since the Central Bank Council only had the right to be heard in this matter, she became President of the Lower Saxony State Central Bank on October 1, 1976, and in this capacity a member of the Central Bank Council. Due to her new office, she had to resign from her supervisory board mandate at Horten AG . She later received a unanimous nomination from the members of the Central Bank Council for her second term. She resigned from the committee in 1988.

From April 28, 1981 to March 12, 1984 Julia Dingwort-Nusseck was chairwoman of the administrative board of Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR), after which she took over the post of deputy chairman. From April 24, 1991 to October 29, 1993 Julia Dingwort-Nusseck was again chairwoman of the NDR administrative board.

From 1990 to 1999 Julia Dingwort-Nusseck was second chairwoman of the Federal Association of German Foundations and has been its honorary member since 1999.

Private

Julia Dingwort-Nusseck was married to Carl-Wolfgang Dingwort from 1951 until his death in 2011. They have a son and two daughters together.
