Julian Mau

Julian Mau (* 1987 in Hanover ) is a German actor and speaker.

Life

Julian Mau grew up in Resse , a district of the municipality of Wedemark , where he attended elementary school. Already during his school days he worked in various theater productions at the Schauspielhaus Hannover . After graduating from high school in Mellendorf , where he was also the student representative , he first went to the radio and did a print internship at the Deister and Weser newspaper . Training as a video journalist and moderator took place at the same time. He worked for several years for print, online and radio in various editorial offices and radio stations.

During his engagement at the Vienna Burgtheater , where he was a member of the “Theater Year” of the castle in 2010/2011, Mau decided to act. He worked as a young actor in several productions of the "Junge Burg". There he played u. a. the Romeo and worked as a hatter in Alice in Wonderland and King Marke in Tristan und Isolde to see.

After his first film work, which was created at the same time as his theater work, Mau is now mainly for film and television in front of the camera.

In the German-Austrian action film Medcrimes - Side Effect Mord , which premiered on RTL in May 2013 , he played the journalist Tommi, the younger brother of the main character, who was gunned down in the street after visiting a pub. From November 2013 to January 2014, he shot the Russian multi-part series with the international distribution title The Old Gun in St. Petersburg and the surrounding area, directed by Kirill Belevich . In addition to Thure Riefenstein , Fitz van Thom , Bastian Sierich and Joshua Grothe, Mau played the German SS officer Moritz, one of the five German-speaking leading roles in the film.

In November 2018 he was seen in a leading role in the ZDF crime series SOKO Stuttgart ; he played the student Julian Schuster, the father of an unwanted child who is suspected of having killed the baby's mother. In the ZDF series Notruf Hafenkante (2019), Mau had a dramatic episode lead role as the kidnapping victim Marvin Kessler.

Mau is also active as a voice actor , advertising spokesman and advertising actor (for Leonardo Hotels, among others ). He lent his voice a. a. John Karna on the Netflix series Scream and Noland Ammon in Kirby Buckets . In December 2018 he appeared in the Berlin Admiralspalast in the live radio play Die Bestie von Berlin together with Ronald Nitschke as the serial killer Carl Großmann .

Julian Mau is a member of the BFFS and the Association of German Speakers (VDS). He lives and works in Berlin.
