David Wayne "Junior" Hoilett (born June 5, 1990 in Brampton , Ontario ) is a Canadian football player with Jamaican roots.

Career

society

Hoilett began his career with the Blackburn Rovers , for which he played on the youth team. From January to June 2008 he was loaned to SC Paderborn 07 . On February 3, 2008 Hoilett made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga when he was substituted on in the game against Kickers Offenbach . In the 2008/09 season he played in the 2nd division for FC St. Pauli, also on loan. For the 2009/10 season Hoilett returned to the Blackburn Rovers; his contract ran until the summer of 2012. In late July 2012 he signed a four-year contract with the Premier League club Queens Park Rangers . After the end of his contract he was initially without a club.

On October 10, 2016, he signed a contract with English second division club Cardiff City that ran until the summer of 2017 .

National team

He has been a Canadian national team player since his first international appearance on October 13, 2015 in a game against Ghana . With Canada he took part in the Gold Cup in 2017 and 2019 .

Others

Hoilett's younger brother Jaineil (* 1992) is also a professional footballer.
