Jury Ljadau ( Belarusian Юры Лядаў , English transcription Yury Liadau ; born December 3, 1987 in Minsk , Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic , Soviet Union ) is a Belarusian biathlete .

Jury Ljadau lives and trains in Minsk and starts for Dinamo Minsk . He started biathlon in 2000 and competed in his first international races in 2003 as part of the junior European Biathlon Cup . The 2005 Junior World Championships in Kontiolahti became the Belarusian’s first international championship. He only competed in the individual, in which he was 52nd. At the Junior World Championships 2006 in Presque Isle , Ljadau started in all possible four races. He achieved the results there 13th in the individual, 31st in the sprint and 37th in the pursuit. With Ihar Tabola and Jauhen Abramenka , he won the bronze medal behind the relays from Russia and Austria in the relay race. This was followed by participation in the 2006 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Ufa , where Ljadau reached 16th place in the sprint and 14th in the pursuit in the junior races on roller skis . The following season he took part in Martell again in the Junior World Championships and was 73rd in the sprint and ninth with the relay. He came to more use at the Biathlon European Championships 2007 for juniors in Bansko . In the individual he came in 33rd place, was 34th in the sprint and just missed a medal in fourth with the relay.

For the men, Ljadau was used for the first time internationally in 2008 in the Biathlon European Cup . He contested his first races in Cesana San Sicario and was 47th in the sprint and 42nd in the individual. As 23rd in a pursuit race in Martell he achieved his best result so far. In Ruhpolding , the Belarusian ran his first race in the Biathlon World Cup in a relay competition in 2009 , in which the Belarusian relay was 19th. He competed in the first individual race, an individual, in 2010 in Antholz and finished 71. With that, Ljadau achieved his best ever World Cup result. In Ufa in 2009 he took part in his first international championships, the European championships, and ran to 38th in the individual, 23rd in the sprint, did not finish the pursuit race and came in tenth with Jauhen Schuleu , Uladsimir Miklascheuski and Yevgeny Markaschanski as the final runner in the relay race Space. At the 2010 European Biathlon Championships in Otepää , Ljadau was the only starting runner of the relay alongside Uladsimir Tschapelin , Schuleu and Wital Zwetau and finished eleventh. In the 2011/12 season he made a leap in performance. First he improved his best performance in the IBU Cup to a 14th place in a singles in Annecy . In the 2012 World Cup he won first points in a sprint in Oberhof as 30th in his fourth World Cup race (not counting his relay races).

It took three years before he was able to improve his best performance again in 2015 in eleventh place . Before that, he took part in his first Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014 and was 57th in the sprint, 56th in the pursuit and 13th season.
