Kåbdalis ( Lule Goabddális ) is a place ( småort ) in the Swedish province of Norrbotten County and the historic province of Lapland in the municipality of Jokkmokk .

The closest crime scene is Vidsel, forty-five kilometers to the south-east, with a population of over 500 . Kåbdalis has had its own chapel since 1961, while the parish has its seat in Jokkmokk . Kåbdalis is known for its very good winter sports conditions. The FIS holds races in alpine slalom and giant slalom on Goabddálisvárre mountain every year .

The inland railway runs through Kåbdalis. In the summer months there are train connections from the small train station to Östersund and Gällivare . In the winter half of the year there is only passenger traffic during the winter market in Jokkmokk . The European route 45 also leads through the village .

Kåbdalis is located on the Goabddálisjåvrre lake .

Kåbdalis station

On September 26, 1936, the then General Director of the Swedish State Railways (SJ) hammered in the last sleeper nail in Kåbdalis and the - for a long time last - large railway project in Sweden was thus close to completion. Almost a year later, on August 7, 1937, regular rail traffic between Arvidsjaur and Jokkmokk began. The railway systems were designed as a stop with a short loading track (107 m). A double-track trolley shed was built for the railway maintenance office next to the station building.

It was not until 1961 - probably in connection with the cessation of freight traffic between Jokkmokk and Kåbdalis on May 22, 1961 - that Kåbdalis was elevated to a station and equipped with two electric entry signals. Around 2010 the trolley shed was demolished and the station building sold. A small service building was built near the monument for the company railroaders, to which the key work has now been attached.
