The Kühberg is a good 550 m high elevation of the Franconian Alb low mountain range in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen .

The wooded mountain is located in the municipality of the city of Treuchtlingen , southwest of Treuchtlingen and south of the Hahnenkamm , near the border with the municipality of Wolferstadt in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries . Not far to the north are the Moselstein , the Hausberg and the Kirschbühl , to the west the Uhlberg . To the northwest is the hamlet of Siebeneichhöfe . The mountain is located in the forest area Grottenhof , amidst the nature park Altmühltal in a conservation area .

The Kühberg belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Franconian Alb (No. 08), the main unit Southern Franconian Alb ( 082) and the sub-unit Altmühlalb (082.2) to the natural area of ​​the Upper Altmühlalb (082.22).
