Künes or Xinyuan ( Chinese  新 源 县 , Pinyin Xīnyuán Xiàn ; Uighur كۈنەس ناھىيىسى, Künəs Naⱨiyisi ; Kazakh كۇنەس اۋدانى, Künes Awdanı ) is a district in the center of the Ili region. It is located in the valley of the Ili tributary Künes .

The district belongs to the Ili Kazakh Autonomous District in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . In 1999 it had 282,710 inhabitants.
