Mongol Kure or Zhaosu ( Kazakh موڭعۇلكۇرە اۋدانى Moñğulküre Awdanı ) is a district of the Kazakh Ili Autonomous Districtin the northwest of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Regionin the People's Republic of China . It has an area of ​​10,464.9 square kilometers and has 155,997 inhabitants (2003). Its main town is the large community of Zhaosu (昭苏 镇).

The Shengyou Temple of Zhaosu County (Zhaosu Shengyou miao昭苏圣佑庙), a Mongolian lamasery, and the plaque commemorating the conquest of the Khanate of Zungars (Pingding Zhunga'er Leming at平定准噶尔勒铭碑), which in 1761 in the Qianlong -Era of the Qing Dynasty , have been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China since 2001 .

At the community level, the district consists of one large community and nine communities (including three nationality communities: two of the Mongols and one of the Kyrgyz ).
