Kiss me please! (Original title: Un baiser s'il vous plaît ) is a French romance comedy from 2007 by director and screenwriter Emmanuel Mouret , about the story of an innocent kiss.

action

The actual plot, the story of Judith and Nicolas, is told via a framework story by Émilie, who meets Gabriel during a business trip. Émilie and Gabriel get along well and meet for dinner, even though they are both in intact relationships. Gabriel wants to kiss Émilie goodbye. But she refuses and tells him the story of Judith, a married woman and her best friend Nicolas as an explanation:

One day Nicolas asks Judith for a harmless kiss, because after his last unhappy relationship he is missing the tenderness and caresses. Judith agrees because she has known Nicolas for a long time and really wants to help him. Although they had agreed beforehand that it was only about exchanging tenderness within the framework of their friendship and that they only want to remain friends, more will come of it. You can no longer leave each other and you cannot go long without the other.

It becomes clear that they have to face their relationship. But Judith is now concerned about her husband Claudio, whom she does not want to hurt. Before she confesses to Nicolas, she first wants to find a suitable replacement for Claudio.

Reviews

"A decidedly elegant reflection in the form of a salon comedy rich in dialogue, which uses convincing actors to track down the abysses of emotionality and repeatedly comes up with surprising twists that constantly steer the gaze in new directions."

“You need a kiss for the erotic to make an entire film about the most beautiful kind of rapprochement: Emmanuel Mouret's film Kiss me, please! is bite-sized summer romance. "

“'The starting point was a film about the effects of actually harmless kisses,' explains Mouret. 'Or to put it another way: Are there kisses at all that have no consequences?' Kiss me please has charm, intelligence and a lot of humor. There is neither kitsch à la Rosamunde Pilcher nor banalities as we know them from American schnulz with Cameron Diaz and the like. In his lovable clumsiness, Emmanuel Mouret is reminiscent of Pierre Richard , the tall blonde with the black shoe , and Virginie Ledoyen inspires with a mixture of naivety and passion. "

“With his fourth feature film, the French filmmaker Emmanuel Mouret is finally conquering Germany. And he should do it by storm, because his unbelievably light and subtle love comedy combines French storytelling with enchanting entertainment and witty sophistication. With four great actors by his side, especially Virginie Ledoyen, and a first-class script, nothing can go wrong. Especially since Mouret is endowed with the looseness of a young Woody Allen and the subtle powers of observation of an Eric Rohmer . "
