Ólafur Thors was Prime Minister of Iceland from May to December 1942, 1944 to 1947, 1949 to 1950, 1953 to 1956 and most recently from 1959 to 1963

The Cabinet Ólafur Thors I was a government of the independent state of Iceland , which deals with the agreement of 1 December 1918 by Denmark breaking away, but the common King of the Kingdom of Denmark and the Kingdom of Iceland Christian X was assumed. It was formed on May 16, 1942 and replaced the Hermann Jónasson IV cabinet . It remained in office until December 16, 1942, after which it was replaced by Björn Þórðarson's cabinet .

The cabinet consisted exclusively of members of the Independence Party (Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn) .
