Cabinet of Gunnar Thoroddsen
The cabinet of Gunnar Thoroddsen was a government of the Democratic Republic of Iceland proclaimed on June 17, 1944 ( Icelandic Lýðveldið Ísland ) . It was formed on February 8, 1980 and replaced the cabinet of Benedikt Sigurðsson Gröndal . It remained in office until May 26, 1983, after which it was replaced by the Steingrímur Hermannsson I cabinet .
The cabinet included members of the Independence Party (Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn) , Progress Party (Framsóknarflokkurinn) and the People's Alliance (Alþýðubandalag) .
