Cabinet Geir Haarde I.
The Cabinet Geir Haarde I was a government of the Democratic Republic of Iceland proclaimed on June 17, 1944 ( Icelandic Lýðveldið Ísland ) . It was formed on June 15, 2006 and replaced the Halldór Ásgrímsson cabinet . It remained in office until May 24, 2007, after which it was replaced by the Geir Haarde II cabinet .
The cabinet included members of the Independence Party (Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn) and the Progressive Party (Framsóknarflokkurinn) .
