Ólafur Thors was Prime Minister of Iceland from May to December 1942, 1944 to 1947, 1949 to 1950, 1953 to 1956 and most recently from 1959 to 1963

The cabinet of Ólafur Thor III was a government of the Democratic Republic of Iceland proclaimed on June 17, 1944 ( Icelandic Lýðveldið Ísland ) . It was formed on December 6, 1949 and replaced the Stefán Jóhann Stefánsson cabinet . It remained in office until March 14, 1950, after which it was replaced by the Cabinet Steingrímur Steinþórsson .

The cabinet consisted exclusively of members of the Independence Party (Sjálfstæðisflokkurinn) .
