The Sturgeon II Cabinet is a cabinet in the Scottish Parliament . It formed after the 2016 general election . Nicola Sturgeon was elected First Minister by Parliament on May 17, 2016 .
The government is a minority government of the Scottish National Party , which won the most seats in the 2016 general election , but lost an absolute majority of seats in the previous election.
