Graeme Dey

Graeme Dey (born October 29, 1962 in Aberdeen ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party (SNP).

Life

Dey attended Greenfern Infants School in Aberdeen, Springhill Primary School and Broomhill Primary School . He then moved to the Harlaw Academy, also located in Aberdeen, and worked as a sports journalist from 1980. He is married with two children and lives in Carnoustie .

Political career

In 1998 Dey joined the SNP. From 2001 he worked for the Member of the House of Commons Mike Weir and participated in his successful campaigns for the general election in 2001 , 2005 and 2010 . For the first time, Dey ran in the 2011 Scottish general election to national elections. In his constituency of Angus South , he received the highest number of votes by a clear margin and thus entered the Scottish Parliament for the first time .
