Cabinet Sturgeon I
The Sturgeon I cabinet was formed after the resignation of Alex Salmond . Nicola Sturgeon was elected First Minister by the Scottish Parliament on November 19, 2014 .
As under Salmond, the government was a sole government of the Scottish National Party , which won an absolute majority of the seats in the 2011 parliamentary elections . In the parliamentary elections in Scotland in 2016 , the SNP lost its absolute majority, and Nicola Sturgeon then formed the Sturgeon II cabinet as a minority government .
