Kamihei-gun (Iwate)

Kamihei County (yellow) in Iwate Prefecture

Kamihei ( Japanese 上閉伊郡 , - gun ) is a district in the southeast of Iwate Prefecture on Honshū , the main island of Japan .

In March 2017 the district covered an area of 200.42 km²; the estimated population was 11,492, the population density therefore around 57 inhabitants / km².

Since 2005, the district has consisted of the small town of Ōtsuchi alone .
