Nishiiwai-gun (Iwate)
Nishiiwai ( Japanese 西 磐 井 郡 , - gun ) is a district in the southwest of Iwate Prefecture on Honshū , the main island of Japan .
In 2005 the district covered an area of 63.39 km²; the estimated population was 8,782, the population density therefore around 139 inhabitants / km².

Parishes in the districts of Nishi- (western; numbered) and Higashi-Iwai (eastern Iwai ), which have been separate since 1879, after the Great Meiji Territorial Reform of 1889
15th: the former village of Hiraizumi ( 平 泉村 ); In 1953 it became a city and in 1955 it merged with the village of Nagashima from East Iwai, today's extension in pink.
