Canton of Breidenbach
The canton Breidenbach ( French "canton de Breidenbach") was a canton in the Moselle department , which existed from 1790 to 1801 .

In 1790 , the canton named after its capital, Breidenbach , was established in the Moselle department .
In 1793 the municipalities of the former county of Hanau-Lichtenberg annexed by France are incorporated into the canton of Breidenbach, so that the canton now has 6,507 inhabitants in 23 municipalities.
In 1801 the canton of Breidenbach was dissolved. The municipalities are assigned to the neighboring cantons of Volmunster and Bitche .
After the Congress of Vienna are 1815 the borders of 1791 restored. The communities acquired in 1793 come to the Kingdom of Bavaria . Obersteinbach is 1825 transferred to France, the place in 1833 the Bas-Rhin associates.
