The Canton Valdoie is a French administrative unit in the Arrondissement Belfort in the department Territoire de Belfort in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . Its main town is Valdoie .

The canton of Valdoie was not formed until 1967 when the former canton of Belfort was split up. In 1984 the municipalities of Offemont , Vétrigne and Roppe were separated from the canton of Valdoie and assigned to the newly established canton of Offemont . The canton consists of two separate areas (on the one hand Valdoie, on the other hand Cravanche and Essert), which are separated from each other by the area of ​​Belfort.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton Valdoie included the three municipalities of Cravanche , Essert and Valdoie . Its layout corresponded to an area of ​​13 km km ² . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 9006.
