Karen Webb (born September 21, 1971 in London , United Kingdom ) is a German television presenter .

Life

Karen Webb was born in London to a German mother and a British-Indian father. The family moved to Nuremberg in 1975 . At the age of 17 she got a one-year scholarship for the USA. She attended high school in Bakersfield , California and took acting classes . Back in Germany, she graduated from high school in 1992 and then studied business administration at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg . From 2003 to 2009 she studied political science in parallel to her work at the Fernuniversität in Hagen and graduated with a bachelor's degree in order to obtain a master’s degree in sociology .

Webb likes to ride a motorcycle and paint in her spare time. From 1994 to 2014 she was in a relationship with the TV presenter Christian Mürau . Their first son, Matteo St. Clair, was born on May 2, 2009; on October 29, 2011, the daughter Romy Amelie followed.

Professional

Karen Webb works as a presenter for television and has also moderated events, trade fairs and international galas in German and English on a regular basis for 15 years. She gained her first experience in the media industry at Franken Fernsehen in Erlangen and at the radio station Antenne Bayern in Munich . From 1998, she hosted at Sat.1 broadcasts 17:30 , Planetopia and the Sat.1 breakfast television .

She has been one of the presenters of the ZDF women's magazine ML Mona Lisa since 2003 . On January 28, 2007, she said goodbye to the Mona Lisa viewers and took over the main moderation of the tabloid magazine People Today from February 5, 2007 . She has been a lecturer at the University of Munich at the Institute for Communication Studies since 2010 . Webb teaches mandatory lectures on the practice of journalism . She also teaches a. at the University of Applied Sciences for Media Management in Erding and at the macromedia in Munich and has a teaching position at the ascenso Academy in Palma, where she teaches moderation as well as media and communication training.
