Karim Ojjeh ( Arabic كريم عجة, DMG Karīm ʿUǧǧa ; * August 27, 1965 in Geneva ) is a Saudi racing car driver and entrepreneur.

family

Karim Ojjeh is the younger brother of Mansour Ojjeh and one of the sons of Akram Ojjeh . His father, born in Damascus in 1918 , was an arms dealer and founded Techniques d'Avant Garde , an international technology group , in 1975 . His stepmother is Nahed Ojjeh , née Tlas. Her father was the former Syrian Defense Minister Mustafa Tlas .

Karim Ojjeh is one of the managing directors of Techniques d'Avant Garde.

Racing career

From 2004, Karim Ojjeh was active as a sports car driver alongside his professional activity . He trained as a racing driver at the Jim Russell Racing Drivers School in the early 2000s . In 2002 and 2003 he gained his first experience in Formula Palmer Audi . In 2004 he got into sports car racing and became a regular starter in the Le Mans Series .

In 2005 he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Paul Belmondo's team and was together with Adam Sharpe and Claude-Yves Gosselin in the Courage C65 behind Thomas Erdos , Mike Newton and Warren Hughes , who drove an MG-Lola EX264 , Second in the LMP2 class. In 2011 he won the LMP2 class at Le Mans. He also remained successful in the overall ranking of this racing class in 2011 when he won the LMP2 class of the Le Mans Series with partner Tom Kimber-Smith . In 2012 he switched to the Blancpain Endurance Series and was third overall in the Blancpain GT Series in 2017 .
