Karl-Heinz Hanisch

Karl-Heinz Hanisch (* 1915 in Potsdam ; † 1997 in Baden-Baden ) was a German gardener , journalist and author of non-fiction books on the subject of horticulture .

Hanisch attended the secondary school in Potsdam and then completed an apprenticeship as a gardener in the Sanssouci terrace area . During the Second World War he was taken prisoner of war as the leader of an infantry company . From 1948 onwards he worked as a gardener and at the same time as a journalist.In 1951 he finally founded the magazine Plant and Garden , which he ran until it was absorbed by the magazine Gartenpost in 1969.

He worked as press spokesman for the Federal Garden Shows in Kassel in 1955 , in Cologne in 1957 and 1971 , in Dortmund in 1959 and 1969 , in Stuttgart in 1961 , in Hamburg in 1963 , in Essen in 1965 , and in Karlsruhe in 1967 . In addition, from 1966 to 1972, Hanisch was in charge of the WDR advisory programs Green Optics and Green Club and produced the television series TV Garden Newly Seen for NDR .

Hainisch became editor-in-chief in 1974 and editor-in-chief of the gardening magazine Mein Schöne Garten in 1976 , from 1983 he was co-editor of the magazine alongside Lennart Bernadotte , and in 1987 he finally ended his work at Burda-Verlag .
